Questions

Find answers to common questions about

healthcare advocacy and how we can help

you and your family

What is a Healthcare Advocate?

A healthcare advocate helps patients and families understand and navigate complex healthcare situations. At Strictly Care Guidance & Advocacy, we provide personalized education, guidance, communication support, and advocacy to help you understand your options and make informed decisions. We can help you prepare for appointments, understand healthcare information, organize questions, navigate care transitions, and communicate your concerns. We do not make medical decisions for you or replace your healthcare providers.

Do you replace my physician?

No. Healthcare advocacy is a support service, not a replacement for medical care.

We work alongside your physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. We can help you understand information, prepare questions, communicate your concerns, and advocate for your preferences, but your medical providers remain responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and medical decision-making.

Do you attend appointments?

Appointment support may be available depending on your needs and service arrangement. An advocate can help you prepare for an appointment, organize questions, take notes when appropriate, and help you understand information discussed during the visit.

Our advocacy support does not replace your physician, nurse, therapist, or other healthcare professional.

Can you help with insurance denials?

Yes. We can help you understand insurance-related information, organize relevant documentation, identify questions to ask, and navigate the appeal process.

However, we do not make insurance coverage decisions, guarantee an appeal outcome, or represent the insurance company. Insurance plans and their designated decision makers determine coverage according to the applicable plan terms and requirements.

Do you help families?

Yes. Families and caregivers are often involved in difficult healthcare decisions, and we provide guidance and support to help them better understand the situation and communicate effectively.

We can help families organize information, prepare questions, understand care options, and navigate healthcare-related challenges. Our role is to support the patient and family—not to make decisions for them.

What areas do you serve?

We provide healthcare advocacy and guidance services to clients in our service area, with virtual support available when appropriate.

Please contact us to discuss your location and needs and determine whether our services are available to you.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. Virtual consultations may be available for clients who prefer to receive support remotely.

Virtual services can provide a convenient way to discuss healthcare concerns, prepare for appointments, review questions, and develop an advocacy plan from the comfort of your home.
